Get to Know Tyler
Why I Love My Job
I am encouraged and equipped to constantly grow in my knowledge of investments and financial planning while I actively work to shape the financial future of my clients in a positive way. And I have the opportunity to see meaningful ways in which my work directly helps others achieve their goals.
Tyler was promoted to Associate Wealth Advisor with our Long Beach team in 2019. In his current role he helps to prepare and deliver essential components of the financial planning process so that clients feel confident that they are on track to meet their goals. He is also a member of the firm’s Investment Committee and assists with collecting and analyzing data that the committee uses to make informed decisions, all while maintaining a strong focus on providing organization to the committee so that it runs as efficiently as possible.
What Tyler finds especially rewarding in his work are his interactions with people—particularly, he says, when it’s clear that he’s making a difference in supporting positive outcomes in people’s lives. He also values the opportunity to work with “incredibly talented individuals who are helping me grow in my knowledge and understanding of personal finance and investments.”
Tyler joined HH as an operations intern in 2014. After he graduated from California State University Long Beach late that year, we invited him to join us in a full-time role as Operations and Training Specialist in January 2015. His responsibilities included assisting with IT support, generating client reports, and maintaining HH’s internal client database. As Tyler explains it, he focused on “creating systems and structures to help make the whole company run more efficiently.” Then in 2017 he was promoted to Client Service Manager in a role which covered the gamut of responding to clients’ needs, concerns, and services, and making sure his team was always working and communicating effectively with one another.
Tyler earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance from CSU Long Beach, where he also minored in Spanish, and his MBA from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business in 2023. He was awarded the ACCREDITED INVESTMENT FIDUCIARY™ designation by the University of Pittsburgh-affiliated Center for Fiduciary Studies and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
Outside of work and school, Tyler volunteers with his church’s high school ministry. He leads group discussions among students, and helps run sound and lighting systems and produce events, including summer and winter camps. He also thoroughly enjoys participating in CrossFit which continually challenges him to be disciplined and inspires him to constantly set (and surpass!) new goals for himself.
Fun Fact
My all-time favorite fast food restaurant is Taco Bell – I currently own several pieces of Taco Bell apparel and have been known to wear a hot sauce packet costume for Halloween more than once.
