Why I Love My Job

HH is unique in placing clients’ interests first and last. My primary desire is to help clients pursue well-lived todays and tomorrows … from a place of financial security. HH has this same focus – striving to help clients in every way we can to achieve their goals. Collaborating with everyone at HH to help our clients is such meaningful work.

Mark P. Janci Family

Mark manages our Bellevue, Washington office; he joined Halbert Hargrove in 2005 to establish the firm’s presence in the Pacific Northwest. He has been advising clients for more than 25 years. For Mark, the relationships he establishes with his clients mean a lot: “I invest my time to understand each unique situation they present, and to be intuitive—applying my experience of working with sophisticated clients to plan and choose wisely to manage and protect their wealth.”

Mark serves as an investment adviser to affluent individuals and institutions, working with a diverse client base that includes entrepreneurs, professionals, technology company executives, and retirees. Mark enjoys assisting and guiding clients in their charitable and legacy planning. Mark is an active member of HH’s Wealth Advisory Committee.

Before 2005, Mark was an Investment Management and Trust Consultant for Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Group. Concurrently, he served as a fee-based Financial Planning Specialist with Network Planning Advisors, LLC.

Mark earned his B.A. in Sociology cum laude from Washington State University and his M.A. in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. He was awarded his ACCREDITED INVESTMENT FIDUCIARY™ designation by the University of Pittsburgh-affiliated Center for Fiduciary Studies, his Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®) certification from the Investments and Wealth Institute, and he is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional.

Mark contributes his time and energies outside of work to support several non-profits.  He enjoys fine woodworking, cycling, and golf—and his favorite instrument is his Martin D41 guitar. Mark likes his vacations to be unstructured, unscripted, and spontaneous. He enjoys traveling overseas with his wife Mary: taking in the adventurous cultural experiences and food tasting.

Fun Fact

I have an artistic side that has been constant throughout my life. I went deep into pottery and ceramics at WSU. I played guitar, wrote music, and performed throughout my college and early parenting years. In the last 15-plus years, I’ve broadened into fine woodworking and stone carving.
