Why I Love My Job

I truly enjoy helping and connecting with our clients, especially in uncertain times. In addition to that, HH has some of the most talented and knowledgeable individuals—and I get to interact with them every day. It’s a pleasure to work here.

Katie M. Clapps Family

Katie’s attention to detail, readiness to listen, and hands-on responsiveness make her a valuable resource for both her clients and Halbert Hargrove team members. “I enjoy interacting with people and providing the best client experience possible,” she says. “I love knowing that I play a part in our efforts to ensure that clients and their loved ones are fully supported in their relationship with HH.”

Katie joined our Long Beach office in 2018. What drew her to HH, she says, is our culture. “It really matters here who you are as a person— everyone I interviewed with wanted to know about me as much as I wanted to know about them.” Previously, Katie worked for three years as a recruiting specialist and senior case manager in the legal industry. Her role with Litigation Legal Insight in El Segundo involved recruiting medical specialists to testify for legal litigation, matching experts with clients to fulfill case needs. With Pasadena-based Forensis Group, she acted as liaison between attorneys and expert witnesses, negotiating contracts, and managing projects and relationships.

A native of southern California, Katie began her career as a sales consultant with Verizon Wireless in 2008 while still an undergraduate. She held this position until 2015, achieving more than $1 million in sales of products and services. She earned her B.A. in English from the University of California at Los Angeles in 2010.

An avid sports fan, Katie can’t sit still when any of her favored teams are playing. She especially enjoys attending sporting events and listening to live music with friends and family. When it’s a beautiful day, she likes to head to the beach to go bike riding.
